A month of blessings, a month for new beginnings, a month of forgiveness, a month of restraint, a month for giving. One of my favorite months of the whole year is here. Ramadhan to me, means all the above and more.
It is a time that I love to spend with my family. I cannot imagine iftar (the time of breaking your fast) sitting on an empty table on my own. Actually, when I moved to Dubai, it was one of the first things I was most excited about. The prospect of sitting at a large table brimming with food commonly eaten in Ramdhan and bustling conversation to match.
Aaaah, that is what I missed the most when I llived in london- that sense of togetherness, that feeling of belonging. I feel so blessed that I have a complete family now with whom I can share this blessed month with.
So this August, I invite you to my home, my kitchen, my dinner table. I will be making foods that we normally break our fasts with, foods that are commonly found in most households. Comfort foods that evoke memories of childhood iftars.
Thank you so much to everyone who took part in Monthly Mingle in July. I was overwhelmed with all your entries. All so individual. I got to discover new blogs and revisit some old favorites. Below is a round up of all your beautiful creations.
